Help us bring The Nutcracker to life with live orchestra!
In 2023, Charlottesville Ballet launched our partnership with the Charlottesville Symphony to commission a live orchestra for our production of The Nutcracker. Benjamin Rous conducted Tchaikovsky’s glorious score for performances across Central Virginia.
This year’s production will see seven performances with a 25-member orchestra in both Lynchburg and Charlottesville, adding approximately $50,000 to production costs. These incredible musicians perform with Charlottesville Symphony, Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, and top organizations across the region.
