THE ELEGANT NEW PRODUCTION OF CINDERELLA AT THE ACADEMY IN LYNCHBURG!

Cinderella is a full-length classic set to Prokofiev’s score that’s sure to delight the entire family with its charming tale of magic and love.  After a visit from her Fairy Godmother, our heroine is whisked off to the royal ball for an enchanting evening where she meets a handsome Prince and her life changes forever.

From silly stepsisters to sparkling fairies, Cinderella’s cast of characters includes local children alongside 30 professional artists from across the U.S. and around the world. This new Cinderella production is created in collaboration with Pedro Szalay of Southwest Virginia Ballet and is made possible by our Diamond Level sponsors and the Joseph and Robert Cornell Memorial Foundation.

BIBBIDI BOBBIDI BALL [All-Inclusive VIP event after 2:00pm performance]

Your carriage awaits for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Ball sponsored by James River Day School! Perfect for young boys and girls ages 3-8, children will experience the magic of Cinderella with this exclusive family event after the 2pm performance.  Guests can meet the ballerinas, take photographs with their favorite characters, and learn a special waltz to the music of Prokofiev.  Royal refreshments will be served, including a magical cocktail for adults!

We encourage children to sport their finest apparel for the occasion, whether formal attire, princess tiara, or their Sunday best.  All-inclusive tickets to the performance + Bibbidi Bobbidi Ball are only available in the VIP seating section (orchestra center). All VIP guests need a ticket to the performance + ball and children must be accompanied by an adult; lap babies are free for the both the ballet and the ball!

MEET THE BALLET: Pre-Show Drinks & Discussion [All-Inclusive VIP event at 6:00pm before 7:00pm performance]
Enrich your family experience and join us for a pre-performance lecture to enjoy a cocktail and meet the artists. Get behind the scenes of “Cinderella” with a 30-minute introduction to the performance including discussions of choreography, music, and the process of bringing ballet to the stage.  All-inclusive tickets to the Meet the Ballet event (6pm) + performance (7pm) are only available in the VIP seating section.
