What is The Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation?
To benefit the City of Lynchburg and the Counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell, The Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation provides for the administration and the investment of gifts and benefactions. Needs served are all embracing including human services to children, youth, the needy, and the elderly; education; health; the arts; and the humanities! The Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation since its inception in 1972, has been able to fulfill their mission to enhance the lives of central Virginians in a multitude of ways. In their last fiscal year alone, The Community Foundation provided over $1.5 million of support for those in need, as well as funding for the arts, education, and historical preservation.
