Here’s a quick snapshot of where our scholarship funding goes

Charlottesville Ballet announces the return of its student scholarship fundraising initiative: Dancers for Dancers. The program is modeled after student fundraisers such as Jump Rope for Heart, where students go out into their individual communities and raise money to support student scholarships at Charlottesville Ballet Academy. The program originally launched in the fall of 2015 to huge success. Students were challenged to raise $5,000, but raised roughly $7,200. These funds went to supporting the $84,000 CBA provides in financial aid and scholarships to students.

This year, our goal is $6,500. If every CBA student raises just $12, we’ll reach our goal and be able to continue our mission of providing dance education to all those who seek it.

Engaging students in fundraising also fosters a sense of personal impact, contribution, and a peer-strengthened community. Teaching our students the impact and value of philanthropic effort is important to us — and we hope you’ll participate as a parent too!

Donations and student forms are due back to CBA April 17, and prizes will be distributed the week of May 8 – 13. We will have a grand celebration in between performances of The Firebird on Saturday, April 29 at 3:15pm on the front steps of PVCC.

We are thrilled to engage in the second (now annual!) year of D4D and continue our efforts to make dance accessible to all!  We hope you’ll join us in this endeavor — and we’ll see you at the studio!
