CBA POLICIES

Health and safety is our top priority. Please review CBA’s arrival/dismissal policy, parent observation policy, and sick policy listed below.

Drop-off & Pick-up

ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL & PARENT OBSERVATION

Arrival/Dismissal at the CBA 29North Location:

  • All students should enter and exit in the FRONT of the building at the double glass doors between US Cellular and Play It Again Sports. Students are welcome to enter the front of the building upon arrival (approximately 5 minutes prior to class time) and proceed via the elevator to the upstairs lobby (floor 2).
  • All students ages 8 and below should be escorted by an adult into and out of the building at all times.
  • Students ages 9 and up may be escorted in and out of the building by an adult or dropped off/picked up at the door at the parent’s discretion.
  • If you need to use the stairs instead of the elevator, please contact our 29North location at 434.973.2555.
  • It is very important that parents/guardians pick up students in a timely manner. Students must be picked-up within 5 minutes after their last class. If you are running late, please call the office immediately.

Arrival/Dismissal at the CBA Downtown at IX Location:

Weekday Daytimes:

  • Upon arriving at the IX Art Park, follow the parking lot around and look for Brazos Tacos. Our facility is to the right of Brazos Tacos. Follow the walkway under the blue and green awning (with the sculpture of the upside-down man) to the double glass doors; proceed through, and you’ll see our facility on the left.
  • Students are welcome to enter the front of the building upon arrival if the building door is unlocked (approximately 5 minutes prior to class time).
  • The double glass doors to the building lock in the evening on weekdays (approximately 5:00PM most days) and all day on Saturday. Please call CBA Downtown at 434.227.7592 and our staff will escort you into the building.
  • All students ages 8 and below should be escorted by an adult into and out of the building at all times.
  • Students ages 9 and up may be escorted in and out of the building by an adult or dropped off/picked up at the door at the parent’s discretion.
  • It is very important that parents/guardians pick up students in a timely manner. Students must be picked-up within 5 minutes after their last class. If you are running late, please call the office immediately.
  • Please note: Students and families are not permitted to walk or wander past the CBA facility. The halls of the IX Art Park building are closed and should not be utilized by any CBA students or families.

Parent Observation:

Parents are welcome to stay in the CBA lobby to observe during class if they prefer (preferably only one adult per student, plus a sibling if necessary). All other parents may either drop-off their child or may come in with their child and then return to their vehicle to limit capacity inside the lobbies. Please note our lobbies have limited seating.

Parents are not permitted inside the studios to observe. Parents with students in First Steps classes in 29North’s Studio 3 may use our Zoom link as our “virtual lobby” for observation. If you choose to take advantage of our “virtual lobby,” please note that if you log on after the class start time, there may be a slight delay in admittance, since the teacher of the class will also be the host of the meeting.

Upon entering the Zoom room, please immediately change your listed name to your child’s full name, or at least first name & last initial.  This will increase security and help us ensure that only parents & family members are watching class each week.  The teachers have been instructed to remove anyone from the meeting who does not have an attending student’s name listed.  If you are unsure about how to rename yourself, please don’t hesitate to call or email us.  An administrative staff member will be happy to instruct you.

  • Regular, punctual attendance is important to a dancer’s progress!
  • Parents/Guardians must report all absences prior to class time. Parents may call the studio or email [email protected].
