2025-26 Season Auditions
Charlottesville Ballet has a mission for wellness and no rigid aesthetic for its artists; dancers of all body types and backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Charlottesville Ballet offers wellness coaching for its dancers throughout the duration of contracts and in preparation for the performance season.
The Trainee Program for young artists runs from approximately August to April. It is a tuition-based program and scholarships are available through our Keith Lee Dance Fund.
We value dancers of all sizes and backgrounds. In order to fully utilize and highlight the amazing group of artists that we have contracted for our 2025-26 season, we are looking for dancers of all heights for our Trainee Program and we are seeking to hire only the following Company Artists:
- Female identifying dancers that are of a height less than 5’3”.
- Male identifying dancers that are of a height greater than 5’8”.

To maximize dancers’ resources of time and travel, candidates must submit their audition materials via the Google Form registration provided below. Please be sure to have your resume, head shot, dance photos, and video reel ready before registering.
Audition classes are held from 10:00-11:30AM (Eastern Time) at Charlottesville Ballet’s Downtown at IX location (949 Second Street SE, Suite #404) on the following Fridays in 2025:
- January: 17, 24, 31
*Note: All international dancers must audition during a January audition date in order for adequate time to process Visa petitions. - February: 7, 14, 21, 28
- March: 7
In addition to the above Charlottesville auditions, Charlottesville Ballet will be adjudicating at the Ballet Audition at The International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD) in Pittsburgh, PA.
Ballet Audition

Piano Accompanist
Charlottesville Ballet is looking for part-time accompanists for weekly ballet classes. Pianists with experience accompanying ballet classes are preferred, but Charlottesville Ballet is willing to train qualified applicants. Pay is $20-$25 per hour based on experience.
Applicants must possess strong classical piano technique, good musicianship, and have the ability to follow musical direction. A strong grasp of classical repertoire is essential and sight-reading is helpful.
Requirements:
- Choose music with appropriate rhythms and tempos by observing the movement of the dancers.
- Adapt/improvise in order to best fit the music with the quality of the movement.
- Always be prepared and consistent in the studio
- Maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, and students

Internship: Administrative Assistant
Charlottesville Ballet is seeking administrative interns for the Summer 2025 and Academic Year 2025-26.
