Help Us Build the Future of Charlottesville Ballet!
We are delighted to announce that the Charlottesville Ballet will be expanding within our current facility at 1885 Seminole Trail beginning Summer 2015! This exciting expansion will include two new state-of-the-art studios, lobby space, four additional bathrooms, and CB offices. Check out a sneak peak of the space downstairs — we’ll be leasing about half of the former Calico Homes space, which will run from the front windowed area all the way to the rear of the building in the previous home of Closure!
This 2,500 square ft. expansion is a pivotal step in the continued growth of the Charlottesville Ballet. The additional downstairs space in our facility will allow us to serve more students in the Academy (CBA), broaden our education programs, and increase our capacity for community outreach.
We are so grateful to our wonderful individual donors and corporate sponsors who have allowed for the continued growth of the Charlottesville Ballet over the past seven years. It is thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers and financial support of our donors that this exciting project is possible…and now we set our eyes on building the future!
The cost of Charlottesville Ballet’s new expansion is projected at $60K – this includes all construction and design plus fixtures for the new studios like ballet barres, sprung floors, mirrors, and new marley.
Estimated Build-Out Cost: $60,000
The Charlottesville Ballet has been “saving our pennies” and silently preparing for an expansion over the past year…we have already secured over ONE THIRD of the build-out cost!!! However, this only covers a portion of the build out and we need your support to make this happen!
Our Fundraising Goal: $40,000
We need to raise $40,000 over the next six months in order to build the future of the Charlottesville Ballet! To kick off our “Building the Future” campaign , we’ll be hosting a Hard Hat Fundraising Gala on Saturday, July 18 at 7:00pm.
The Hard Hat Fundraising Gala is a semi-formal event featuring catering, live music, and special performances by the professional company artists. Patrons will also get a sneak peek of the renovation plans, and have a champagne toast in the new space!
Tickets to the event are $50 per person with all proceeds benefiting the Charlottesville Ballet.
