Supporting the Arts in Charlottesville for Families

CharlottesvilleFamily Magazine has long been a champion of the arts, highlighting local events, performances, and creative opportunities for families to enjoy together. From children’s theater productions and dance lessons to art exhibits and the symphony, the magazine connects parents with enriching experiences that spark imagination and joy.

“Our community is brimming with talent and creativity,” says Jennifer Bryerton, M.A.Ed., co-founder and publisher of CharlottesvilleFamily Magazine. “We love showcasing opportunities that allow families to experience the arts and support local artists. It’s about building appreciation and creating lifelong memories.”

“I am especially happy to have had the opportunity for CharlottesvilleFamily to sponsor ballet performances and music opportunities and theater. My own children loved participating in lessons and going to shows when they were little and I’m delighted to report back that even as young adults they still like to go to performances with us and they all pursue creative endeavors from dance to piano and the visual arts,” Bryerton added.

Encouraging Health and Fitness for Families

In every issue, CharlottesvilleFamily emphasizes the importance of healthy living. Whether it’s highlights of family-friendly hiking trails, tips on parenting an athlete, mindfulness games or nutritious recipes, the magazine equips parents with the tools to prioritize wellness.

“Healthy habits start at home and early,” Bryerton shares. “We want to make it easy and fun for families to be well and to enjoy quality time together. Central Virginia is blessed with a myriad of active and fun opportunities from ballet lessons and lacrosse teams to swim leagues and hiking – and we’re thrilled to guide families in exploring it.”

Their signature event is the CharlottesvilleFamily KidFest & Camp Expo each February. It is an opportunity to bring together a myriad of community organizations. Parents can attend and meet all the many schools and organizations offering classes, performances, camps and programs for kids and parents.
