DIRECTOR’S WELCOME

Dear Friend,

We created our Children’s Ballet Series so that young audience members could be introduced to dance through a fun and approachable theater experience.  This is an interactive children’s ballet and parents are encouraged to participate with their kids.  You are all special guests at Fairy Godmother’s tea party, so feel free to laugh, clap, and even sing along with the characters on stage!

A Fairy Tale Gathering is an original production with many characters that have been “imported” from full-length, 3-hour ballets.  The music is also a compilation from famous operas and traditional ballet scores, allowing young kids to recognize and appreciate classical ballet’s musical heritage.

I am also pleased to present students from Charlottesville Ballet Academy as The Seven Dwarfs. The young dancers have done a fantastic job and I am very grateful to their parents for helping make this performance possible.

Thank you so much for joining us this afternoon and enjoy the performance!

Don’t Miss a Fairy Tale Ending!

Join the Charlottesville Ballet dancers on stage for a very special Fairy Tale Tea Party after the show! Adults can enjoy tea party refreshments while children meet the dancers, make their own tea time crafts, and take photos with their favorite fairy tale characters.

To add the Tea Party to your ticket order, visit the box office after the show.  Children’s tickets are $15 and adult chaperones attend the tea party for free!
