Dancers for Dancers (D4D)

Charlottesville Ballet’s Dancers for Dancers (D4D) program is back! As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we are committed to making dance accessible to our community. Each year Charlottesville Ballet Academy typically gives $300,000 in scholarships and financial aid from the NEW Keith Lee Dance Fund as part of our mission to ensure that dance is something everyBODY can enjoy. D4D fosters a community where students help raise the funds that contribute towards their peers’ scholarships. To date, our students have raised more than $100K through seven fundraisers!

CBA students are challenged to raise $30 each in 2025! For CBA students who participate in the fundraiser there are fun prizes to be won, including a voucher for a FREE donut for anyone who participates!

We are encouraging all donations to be made online at www.CharlottesvilleBallet.org/D4D. We can also accept donations by check (made payable to Charlottesville Ballet) or cash. Hard copies of the donation form will be available in the CBA Lobby at both our 29North and Downtown locations.

2018, CBA Students Busking on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall to Support the D4D Initiative!

This year, our goal is to raise $25,000 to support the Keith Lee Dance Fund. Any money raised in excess of our goal will be used toward the continued work of the Charlottesville Ballet in its mission to elevate the art of dance through wellness, performance, education, and community outreach.

If you are a parent, please allow us a small suggestion. Consider allowing your child to ask for these donations on his or her own. You can assist in coming up with wording, for example:

“I am raising money for dancers who need scholarships for their dance classes at CBA. Would you please support me? Any amount helps, even $1.”

Even if you help your child remember what to say, they will still be able to take great pride in any funds raised for the D4D program.

Dancers for Dancers (D4D) Timeline:

February 24 – March 1: D4D Launch Week – Introductions & Information in Each CBA Class!
March 24-29: D4D Spirit Week
March 29: Forms and Donations Due
May 5-23: D4D Prizes & Donut Vouchers Available for Pickup in CBA Lobby
May 5 – June 30: Donuts may be redeemed with voucher at participating location (to be announced!)
